uhhhmmm... not so exciting.
Current state... uhmmm.... stressed, depressed, frustrated, about to my whits end, and very deperate for a break. In horrible need of a vacation that lets me unwind, etc. You get the drift. So, this semester didn't go very well. Oh well, that is something that i can't really change right now. :( I wish that t would have gone alot better, even a little better would have made me feel alot better. In my defense, this has been a very rough semester outside of school too. Try feeding a rabbit antibiotics through a baby syringe twice a day from October until December, and then some. This poor rabbit just had her third abscess drained. The first two are gone. The first one was easy, it was on her foot, and it went away very easily, the second one was the one on her jaw, and now the third one that I'm working on getting rid of is near her eye. Went to the vet, and got it drained the other day, she's back on the antibiotics again. Whoo! Poor rabbit.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I haven't had a break from school that lasted more than 4 weeks since the beginning of college. Over the past 2 and a half years, I have attended school every spring, every fall, every summer session offered, and most intersessions. During the few times that I do have breaks from school, and during school, I have been working. I have yet to ask for a break off from work that isn't for a family trip, or the week off last spring break. I need a break, and can't afford one. How sad is that?
So I'm sick of feeling stupid, but whatelse is new. I really don't want to take anything from anyone. I don't really want to talk about it at all, and I really am sick of people implying that they're smarter than other people. I don't really care how they do it, it's just mean, and arrogant, and ego happy. (I'm not singling out anyone here, because almost everyone does it, I know I do it from time to time even.) I'm just asking for people to not do that to me, at least for a while. I know that probably sounds kindda selfish, but please, just let me be a for a bit. Also, I am asking that if anyone catches me doing that to them that they call me out on it, because as much as it bothers me when people do that to me, I really don't want to do that to anyone else.
Christmas... sigh. Not good, not bad, just kindda there. End of discussion.
The New Year's Eve party is gonna be pretty cool, I'm working with Tabz to try to make it better than any other party before; by decorations, if nothing else, but it should be cool, we're gonna meet to try to work out all the kinks by tomorrow.
So anyhow, that about wraps it up for me right now, sorry it wasn't more exciting like it should have been. I'll keep working on it.
I'll catch you all later,
bye, Elizabeth.

So... welcome to post number 99, including that double post back there, sorry about that but I'm just too lazy to remove it, so you kindda have to deal with it. Let me reassure you all that post number 100 will be pretty cool, or something of that sort.
But anyhow, so.... life these days:: stress, stress, headache, stress, more headache, cosideration of gouging out the eyeball to get to the headache and remove it, more stress, stress due to the headaches, headaches due to the stress... nasty cycle, really. I don't like it at all.
Anyhow, so... tired, stressed, and frustrated... oh well. Oh yeah, and it seems that I'm discovering more and more that I'm not a strong enough person to deal with my life. Funny how it works, isn't it? The only way you can gain strength the strength you need to survive a hard 'trial,' is to endure other trials that you're not even sure you have enough strength to overcome in the first place. So, while you need more strength for the things you're forced into, you can't even get through the basic things that you should be able to. My life feels like I'm trying to get through the last level of a video game on the first try, without ever having held a controller before.
It feels like I'm stuck in slow motion, and fast forward at the same time. I just want to be able to solve my own problems at my own pace, with none of this 'intervention' or outside bitching. A breath of fresh air has never hurt anyone, especially during the week(s) leading up finals.
Uhhh... school. Not good. Oh well. Not aweful, but no where near good enough.
Yeah, and LINKIN PARK has captured my soul, and put it into song, repeatedly. Yay for them. The reason for songs is to share a story, or idea with the rest of the world that others can relate to, but probably not put into words.
Yeah, I'm gonna close this now, because i'm kindda zoning out.... It's taken me about two hours to write this much. Goodnight everyone. Sleep well, sweet dreams. bye, Elizabeth

4 in the morning.
Hey baby
I've been up all night
Trying to make sense of my life
Day's breaking
Things are getting bright
After all this time
And any fool could see
That you're the best thing
That's happened to me
4:35 in the morning
Everything is clear
4:35 in the morning
I wish that you were here
So lately
I've been coming home
Sleepy, all alone
Don't hate me
Left here on my own
Staring at the phone
And any fool could see
That you're the best thing
That's happened to me
4:35 in the morning
Everything is clear
4:35 in the morning
I wish that you were here
4:35 in the morning
Everything is clear
I hear the phone
It's ringing loud
I'm coming alive
4:35
4:35
Yeah any fool could see
That you're the best thing
That's happenened to me
4:35 in the morning
Everything is clear
4:35 in the morning
Everything is clear
4:35 in the morning
4:35 in the morning
4:35
***Note, I have never listened to this song, but somehow the lyrics seem appropriate. (Probably because it's 4:03 now)
The fish got transfered to the new tank, he seems much happier.
but still not all better.
Hazel, the poor thing, looks alot better, but still pretty bad, the stitches have disolved. Poor girl. She seems much happier though, and almost eager to come out and take the antibiotics - so long as they are followed by yogurt chips (no surprise there.)
I'm not tired yet, but I should be. Lots of work to do still. I still have tons of stuff to do this weekend, and I haven't really started.
My check got sent to Dallas. :( Oh well. Thanksgiving was alright. Altogether, i would say I've had too much family lately, and I'm kindda ready for the break to be over. i need to do lots more work for IHS, so that I have spending money for Christmas, and my continuation of stockpiling for moving out in Janurary. (Yay!!!!) Still stressed, but cest la vie.
Anyhow, so I'm gonna attempt to get some sleep now, so I can do get up earlyish, and get lots of work done tomorrow. The down side of being in charge of your own working schedule is that you tend to put alot of other things higher up on the priority list due to the flexibility of working.
So sleep,
Goodnight,
Hoping for a good bedlam tomorrow,
Elizabeth.

An add-on
I don't know if any of you have seen it or not yet, but Richard's latest post is somewhat entertaining. I must say however, I can think of a few more 'party' games I would like to see on the list.
Beer with me, for I am neither as eliquent as Richard, nor am I as punny. (ha... Richard making a good pun, that's fun. J/K - I still love you Richard.) But anyhow... things to be added to the list of not-so-famous drinking games:
- Drink til you barf! (you can guess the rules of the game)
- Who can get drunk first? (You also probably know how this one works.)
- How many people were unfortunate enough to have gone and watched Drowning Mona? Maybe it was Killing Mona, I don't recall, it was pretty bad. But anyhow, so one of the main characters, in the beginning of the movie is playing a game during which he takes a knive, and stabs it betweeen his outspread fingers one after another, then back again, so that he is creating an arch then going back and forth on that arch. The point of the game is to go as fast as possible. So... the game:: start that game. For every full arch that is successfully made, have a shot. The first person to lose a finger or other body part is the loser, and also probably dead. Yay! Fun game.
- Next game... strip poker ... with alcohol. Yes... to appease all you silly people who are under the assumption that boobs are everything, there you go. The one problem is gonna be trying to get a girl to play with you. Anyhow, so the way this game works is every time a person wins, they take a shot. Then, the people who are naked feel alright, because everyone who isn't naked is too drunk to know who is naked anyhow.
- I'm particularly fond of the carnival games, so the next would have to be the saucer on the cup game. You get a bunch of shot glasses, fill them with different liquids, or the same if you choose. Then arrange small plates over the top of them, upside down. After this is done, you should spray Pam on them, or splash olive oil, or vegetable oil over the top of them to make it more difficult. Next, take some coins, and toss them at the cups. If you make it in a cup then, you have to drink it. (not the coin though.) This is where different -yummy drinks come into play. If you don't make it. Have a beer. It's all good, try again later. This is a good game for the host of the party to start, because when the party is over, they get to keep the money. When the people run out of money, you can try to convince them to start throwing bills at the cups. Convince them that dollar airplanes fly better than coins.
- BINGO!!!! Every time someone gets a bingo, they get a shot, every time someone gets a number, they take a shot. Every time someone loses, they take a shot. Everytime a number is called, they take a shot. So basically, the game will probably not make it to the end.
Goodnight, and remember, drink responsibly.... (or something like that)
Later,
Elizabeth.

Breaking Benjamin
Breaking Benjamin is tomorrow night. I'm ready for it. Although, I must admit, I'm not as big a fan of Breaking Benjamin as I am of The Killers. The line up for tomorrow night is much better though. I'm pumped. I really want them to throw in The Killers too, but the concert is gonna rock. It's gonna be freakin' awesome.
EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!! Breaking Benjamin. Yay!
In other news, took Hazel up to the emergency animal center on Saturday, she spent the night up there, and came back with a furless cheek on Sunday afternoon. Puff is eating again now that Hazel is back. Hazel is eating again now that her cheek isn't the size of Montana. Busy week coming up/upon us... quiz wed. test on tuesday, 4-8P. yay! more time for a test I'm still not ready for.
that's about an hour per question just so you know.
Hazel goes to the vet tomorrow to get a tooth removed, and the abcess drained some more. She is looking pretty pathetic right now. But hopfully, this will make her feel alittle better. It's gonna cost me a small fortune, but you know, some people get electronics, I keep rabbits from dying. What can I say? I have this thing where I just sort of refuse to let an animal die if I can help it. There is no reason for a rabbit to die just because I don't feel like shelling out another paycheck. They deserve better.
anyhow, so I need to go give said rabbit antibiotic pill, and do some reading still tonight. Big day tomorrow.
Goodnight,
Elizabeth

Drug Testing... yech!
The first reason is integrity. I don't really understand what a company is trying to convey to it's employees when it forces them to get a drug test done in order to work at the company. It's basically, to me, like accusing you before they even know you. If they don't trust you, why do you work for them? That is, I'd rather work somewhere that pays me less, but actually trusts me. By forcing everyone to take a drug test, the company gives up it's integrity, and creates a bad model for all of it's employees. (What, you can't find your pen? Let's go through every desk so we can find it, or better yet, we'll do a lie-detector test and see who stole it.)
The second reason is well, come on. Peeing in a cup. That is so 70's. Now-a-days, we can find out whether you've done drugs or not by taking blood samples, or even by just taking one strand of hair. What is the point of peeing in a cup? Everyone who is taking the test knows that it is gonna happen in advanced, because they tell you to drink plenty of fluids, and so forth. If you wanted to crack down on drug use, you could/should test a strand of hair. You can get alot more information out of one strand of hair than you can out of urine. Hair has rings (of sorts) kindda like a tree. If you did drugs two years back, and your hair is long enough that the bit that grew out of your roots two years back is still there, they will know that you did drugs back then. A lot more stuff ends up noted in your hair than you'd think.
Finally, it's slightly infuriating that they don't believe you, or won't even consider it. What has our world come to that you don't trust anyone? Does a person's word not mean anything anymore? Honestly, I'd rather have a blood sample taken than pee in a cup because it's just infra dig to do so. (Yes, I am arrogant and stuff, but moreover, I'd lke to keep my dignity.) Hey, I remember back in the day, people were trusted. I didn't even have to take a drug test to work at KIPR. That is nice. Ahhh, those were the days.
Anyhow, enough of my rantings, I need to eat and get some work done.
Later,
Elizabeth.

Anyhow, so I'll catch you all later.

I'm writing, I'm writing. Yay!
In other news, school is hard, and it sucks. Digital design is alright, it is even kindda fun, but digital signals/filtering is difficult, as is Diff Eq. for no apparent reason. Probably just because i havn't done enough reading for it. 8:30 classes are killing me. I don't know why. It seems I just can't get up. Oh well. I'll fix that. Engr. practice is kindda boring, but my group is loads of fun. That's a plus.
Anyhow, so that's enough for me. I'll catch you all later.
Bye, goodnight,
Elizabeth.

Awhhh Hells Yeah!!!!
My one complaint about 311 is that I wish the lead singer would take his shirt off, because he looked like he would have a really good body, and face it, the concert just brought out the fact that everybody enjoys a bit of eyecandy in the form of some nice abs on a guy that you have no real desire to ever be with asside from the beemer, money, fame, rock 'n roll lovin', excitement, fame, beemer, money, beemer, nice bods, beemer, and oh yeah, did I mention the beemer? I dont know, it may just be the near contact high from the atmosphere, but dam, he should have taken off his shirt. Oh well.
The rest were so-so. Never go to an UnWritten Law Concert.
they scream ther heads off in concert. but it was good.
Yay! for 311.
I love you 311. I would totally go to another 311 concert. they rock my world. My nifty awesome boyfriend also rocks my world. I must say thanks to my dearest Richard, for getting tickets.
Anyhow over and out for me.
Elizabeth.

We should all help!
Also, tomorrow there will be giant bins of sorts at the entrances/exits of local grocery stores in Norman for the people in New Orleans. I encourage everyone to put at least one item in it. They are specifically asking for drinking water, non-perishable food items, and baby stuff: diapers, formula, wipes, etc. Water is like 58 cents a gallon or something like that, so it's not a big deal. That's like less than the cost of a soda.
They helped us out in 1993, with the Murrah Building bombing and giving blood. Giving blood is alot more intimidating than a gallon of water. It is time that we help them back. We're America, and America is amazing because we give so openly. So, heartland of America, it is time to give back. They say the bins are only gonna be in local stores, and only tomorrow, but I saw one half full in walmart earlier today, and I imagine that they will leave them around a little longer than just one day.
Anyhow, so Laborday shall henceforth be known as the giving day.
I must sleep now though. Goodnight, sleep well, sweet dreams, take care, and please help out. Do as you would have done unto you.
Goodnight, E.

Tomorrow, and in the future a little
The funny thing about this, is simply that we do not yet have our duplex. That requires me getting another job. Getting another job means that I will be seeing considerably less of you fun peeps. On the other hand, it also means seeing alot less of my brothers. So, on top of the 7 hours a week that I already have, and the 16 hours of school that I have a week, I will be adding between 25 and 40 more hours of work per week. So, that puts me up to 48-63 hours of being busy in a week. Given that there are 24 hours in a day, and seven days in a week, that means that I would be spending roughtly 2-3 full days just doing school and work. This time does not include homework, or school activities, or driving time to and from, or getting ready for work and school. Also assuming that I spend about 3.5 hours in the shower in a week, and about 56 hours in bed a week (I know, horrible over estimate, but just go with me on this one.) There are 168 hours in a week. So, between work, school, and sleep/shower, I'd only have between 60.5 and 45.5 hours a week to do such things as eat, homework, get ready for school, school activities, driving, and hanging out with you all. Most of these hours, will be when I may be able to be working at KIPR more this Spring (between 8 and 5).
Anyhow, so forgive me if I am a little standoffish about this all. But what it all comes down to, is that I can't afford to live just on the money from the seven hours a week that they are willing to give me at KIPR currently.
Man, I hope I don't end up killing myself with this. Anyhow, enough worrying, and stressing from me. I need to be asleep.
Goodnight everyone,
Elizabeth.

dude, check him out!
Woot! to Kevin Rose!!!! Once again, he has rocked my world!!!!!
I would also suggest that if you have not yet watched The Broken, that you do that, because it is very entertaining. It is alittle technical, but I enjoyed it alot, and it talks about social engineering, which any college aged student needs to know.
THE BROKEN
I think my favorite is the second one, called "hacking with Ramzi" But they are all done by Kevin Rose, and he's loads of fun. Unfortunately, not only do I not live in Washington, but he also has a girlfriend, and I have a boyfriend. (Darn. 3 strikes, there goes that idea.)
But anyhow, so yeah, you should check him out some.
Catch you all later. bye.
being without internet access sucks.
Okay...
School sucks, it's too damn expensive, and takes up too much time.
Jobs that cut you down to 7 hours a week really suck. I need to work more than that. I'll only take home like $50 a week working this much. I need another job. I'm hoping to find one that will be able to find one that I can work about 30 hours a week, outside of the hours of 8am and 5pm.
I want my new harddrive, and I want it now. I really miss having continual access to the internet. It is very useful. I really really miss it.
Tabs and I are went 'shopping' for our duplex today. It was fun. That is to say, we went around the store, deciding how we're gonna decorate our place once we get it. It's gonna be very sophisticated looking, with sexy greene, purple, and blue christmas lights on the patio roof, and lots of candles, and pets. (We figure if I let Tabs have her cat, we won't have to worry about mice.)
So, on that note, the only working 7 hours a week at KIPR is kindda good, because it forces me to get another job. But anyhow, so that's enough for me. I'll catch you all later. have a good day. MEO

Eulogy of Beowulf
(Queue theme music here)
(end theme music)
Anyhow, so put it into real terms... it seems that when my poor, beloved computer took a dive off of my night stand, not only did the screen shatter into a million little pieces, but also, the poor little harddrive had a few problems of it's own.
So once again, they are going to fix my computer, free of charge (by that, I simply mean that it is still under warranty). But this time, it sounds like they will actually let me put it in myself. I hope that they do, since it isn't really hard, and it only involves one screw and stuff like that. But anyhow, so yay! I get a new hard drive. Well, half a yay at least. It should be in around monday. Yay! That makes me happy.
Once that is done though, I will be able to go in partition the hard drive, and install windows. It will be fun. I still haven't quite decided if I want to have Linux on it too or not, but if I do, I'm not entirely how to go about doing that, so... Rodney, if you're actually reading this, you're gonna get a call.
But anyhow, so I should get off of this, because it's Mark's computer. I'll catch you all later. Hope you're having a good time. bye, MEO

The Killers!!!
Anyhow, asside from that, the Green Day concert is tomorrow. It should be incredibly awesome as well. I'm looking forward to it.
In other, more sad, news not a single movie store in town had a copy of 1776 the musical in stock. That is sad. :(
Also included in this category, my pc is a little mia for a bit. I'm upgrading to Windows XP Pro, and partitioning the harddrive in the midst of the act. Why? Because it was driving me nuts, and because I discovered how much too much space windows had taken over.
I think I might try my hand (and mind) at some of this linuxing after I've gotten Windows back on. At the current rate, it should be back on sometime around... oh say Thursday evening. Fun, huh? I think not.
But anyhow, so not it is time for some good old fashioned sleep, and maybe even a shower first. I'll catch you all later.
Bye, Elizabeth

Alot can happen in a day
It has been a short day too. I didn't get up until about 3:30 or 4. Why did I get up then you ask? Well, we were out trying to find the meteor shower, but the clouds spoiled our fun. Anyhow, so I didn't get home and into bed until sometime after 6 in the morning. So, at around 3:30, my brother comes, knocks on the door, and comes in, and tells me that "Ashley the door next to next is at the door, and she wants to talk" to me.
The beginning of the conversation was pretty much an apology for leaving so soon, and an emphasis on the fact that I was not the reason for this early self-dismissal.
But the conversation continued for about a little over an hour or so.
From there, I jumped into the shower, and cleaned myself before rushing out to the party store to get some pirate stuff before the stores closed.
At somewhere around 6:15, I went and harrassed Richard to get the phone number of the girl whose party we were supposed to attend later that evening.
I was still tired, and had a horrible headache, so even though we were supposed to be there at 7 PM, I didn't leave until Richard had completely finished with working.
So about 7:20-25 ish, I leave, Albertson's, and Richard goes home to shower, and practice for his coming up try-outs. I go home, quick to get some stuff I forgot. Then I go over to Classics, and pick up some food for myself and Richard, and meet up with him and the food at his apartment. He calls Ally (the hostess of the party) to find out what's going on.
We eat, about 8:15, she calls us back, and we meet up with a group of 10 people or so dressed as pirates walking out of Petsmart. From there, we went into the mall, where we discover that one person is dressed as a ninja. We walk through Old Navy, everybody is looking at us, it's great. We walk past the kids, they all smile, and are thrilled and stuff. We go to take a picture near the fountain in the center, and the ninja tries to be all stealthy like, and 'hide' in the flower bed, and the security guard yells at us, and tells him to get out, and that we have to be out of there before the mall closes in two minutes.
We walk back by the kids, one kids is overly thrilled, and yells out excitedly, "Pirates Daddy, pirates."
After this, we walk through the drive-thru of McDonalds, to see one person working the drive-thru there. Then we go over to the Wal*Mart, where we get yelled at for sitting on the tricycles, and the ninja gets told he must pull down the black handkerchief covering his face because he might ninja them. Any how, so in all of this, everyone we walk by smiles, it's great. One guy even asks Richard if he's Captain Jack Sparrow. It's great. Anyhow, so then we page for the one person who looks normal (he's dressed up as an internet pirate) that we lost.
After a cheerful reuniting with the guy we'd lost, we head out. On the way out, the canadian in the group says to the older lady at the door to the walmart, "You be a saucey lass." It was freakin' hilarious. I'd have to say that that falls under the category of sexual harrassment, but it is great none the less.
So we leave there, and go to the West side Albertson's, and then we go back to Ally's house, and hang around, and eat, and talk alot. Play a little ping pong. We even tried the interesting good combination of pineapple and mushrooms on pizza. It's interesting, but not bad. Then we watched Muppet Treasure Island. It was fun. By this time, it is about 1:40 in the AM, so we come back to Richard's apartment, which is where my car is, and where I am currently.
So anyhow, alot has happened today. I think it is time for sleep soon. They are all out in the living room playing halo, and Shawn has blue tooth in his new phone. It is incredibly cool. He can use his phone to control the media player on his laptop from across the room. It is freakin' awesome. But anyhow, so I'm gonna get off of here now, and go join the rest of the humans.
Hope everyone had a great day, and has an awesome one tomorrow. Catch you later. 'Liz

Complicated Chick really doesn't quite describe her.
Either way, it is time to get it all off my chest.
Ashley W. seems to be mad at me, because of something I had said to Richard. The funny thing about this being that she had to have completely taken ift out of context to be upset with me for it now, and that she was not a part of this conversation. Side stepping all of this, she's been mad at me for about two years now, because of some stupid party that I ended up taking Martin & Tony to. (To avoid getting into the massive amounts of trouble that I knew I would be in when Martin told our parents, I decided to tell them first, that it was a party involving alcohol. You might ask why it even matters, but then you must realize that Marting & tony were 15 & 16 at the time, and I was their ride, at the dandy age of 18 or 19. Anyhow, so to make a long story short, Ashley also attended that party, and was pretty smashed by the point in time that I left, and it seems that she decided to not like me anymore, because she was afraid that my parents would tell her parents, which I knew they wouldn't.) Anyhow, so somewhere in there, the friendship dwindled into darn near dislike for each other.
Recently, in the past few weeks, she got online, and IMed me. I was shocked, and confused, and completely at a loss for how to react to this, so I was nice back, and admittedly, a little standoffish. I mean, you've got to see it from my perspective, this is the girl that I overheard tell my brother that I'm a bitch. Forgive me if my love for her isn't quite what it once was.
Either way though, we talked on IM a little here and there, unfortunately, she'd usually catch me just as I needed to go do something like enroll, or something like that. I did invite her to the waterballoon fight although, only in IM for I never got around to resending the e-mail. (It seems that that is the thing I've been dropping the most this summer.) Anyhow, so it was cancelled due to lightening, and moved back to the friday after (aka - today). I invited her to the rain-date wbf aswell over IM finally thursday, having given up on getting e-mail addresses for others I also wanted to invite via e-mail from Richard.
So I get done giving her the info, and she stated that she doubted that she'd be there, I inquired if she had something else going that evening, and she started making remarks about how I didn't really care, and how I should give it up on pretending to be nice, and how it would be easier for everyone if we just didn't talk to each other ever again, and how I obviously didn't want her to be my friend again, and so forth.
I responded to all of that very nicely, and stated that I am genuinely being nice, and interested in being friends again, and so forth; apologized for having offended her somehow, ya da ya da... She goes offline before I even finish - yay! I love being told I'm not a real friend, and being 'hung up' on.
So anyhow, in the end, richard is thinking it is all his fault for having told her whatever it was he did, I'm all not feeling good, and kindda depressed because of it all, knowing that it is in fact my fault. And Ashley, I don't know what she is like. But anyhow, so I'm even more confused now than I ever was before as to how to handle the situation. I mean, being nice doesn't seem to be working, but being mean is gonna make it even worse. Being honest got her to 'hang up' on me. And I'm just flat out confused. This is far too complicated for me. I don't understand what she wants. I mean, I'm trying, I really am, but you can't expect a new friendship to just regain full strength over night; especially not after having a falling out.
But anyhow, so the wbf is this evening in like 2 hours and 45 minutes, and I need to shower, and fill balloons and stuff like that, so I'm closing this blog. I'll catch you all (assuming anyone is still reading this, and I don't know why you are if you are) later.
Elizabeth.

to make everyone stop bugging me.
My pirate name is:
Mad Morgan Bonney
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Beowulf & strep
In the mean time, on Tuesday morning, I managed to accidentally kick my computer, off of my night stand, where it sets during the hours that it is not in use, and destoy the screen on it. Not yay. So, either way, I have accidental injury on it, and 3 year warranty, and all that good stuff that cost an arm and a leg. At this point in time, I'm actually happy that I spent that additional like 300 bucks to make sure they will fix it for me when I do stupid stuff like this. Knowing myself and that there would undoubtedly be some time that I do something like this is useful. I have dropped it before, but it's never hurt it then.
Anyhow though, so the accidental injury is the only sort of insurance thing that covers the screen, and man, and I glad that I have it now. So I called up Dell, and said, I broke my screen! Help me! They said, (this was a little girl most likely in India, with a thick accent) let me check to see that you have the proper stuff that we can help you.
Having just gotten past the whole contagious bit the day prior, and having to take Hazel into the vet to get her teeth trimmed again (which, by the way, they offered me her teeth, the onces they'd just trimmed off, in a medicine bottle to keep --- gross!!!!!!!), I decided to stay home from work. (a great comfort to the elderly ladies I work with, I garuntee you.) So anyhow, I stay home, waiting for this one stupid phone call. About 2 o'clock, I decide it isn't going to come. So I call up the new number that they gave me to get a hold of them (Dell) with, and I give them the walk through, and they said they'd talk to the people again, and looked up where the screen was, and couldn't find where the screen was, and pretty much, they were completely lost on the whole thing. During the all of the encounters with Dell support, they continue to ask, "I'm just going to look up your account here quick, and review it. Will you please hold for 3-5 minutes," or "I'm going to call the company quick. Elizabeth, will you please hold for 10-13 minutes." etc.
They would also ask for my name when ever I was transferred to a different person. it was kindda eerie like.
Either way, so the next day, today, Thursday, I get a call in the morning, and set up an appointment with the guy to come and replace my screen. He says he's going to be here, at my house, between 1:30 & 3:30. So I wait around all day, for him to show up, and fix my computer. At about 4:15, I've given up on him, and I call Dell again, who proceeds to tell me that they have sent me an e-mail summarizing my case to me. I'm thinking, how the hell does that help me? I can't even get on the computer to check my e-mail, because I don't have a freakin' workin' screen. Anyhow, so they continue to tell me that they can't do anything about it, and that I should call back the person who is supposed to be coming to my house. So I call him back, and get voice mail. I leave a message. Yay! There is all sorts of fun. Anyhow, so I left for school, and by the time I'd got back, he wants me to call him back, and arrange another time that he can come by and fix my computer, I'm thinking, what, so you can just ignore it again? But anyhow, so it sounds like I won't have Beowulf all fixed again for a little bit longer still.
Anyhow, it is dinner time, so I will catch you all later. Bye, have a good day,
Elizabeth.

calc notes & Richard gets back soon!!!!!!
On a much happier note, my boyfriend gets back tomorrow!!!! Yeah, or at least, I think it is tomorrow, but it's either tomorrow or Sunday, either way, it is soon!!!! Richard time! So, here's the deal, I left for Florida on the 12th of July, and he left for Louisiana on the 17th of July. I got back from Florida on the 18th of July, just missing him, how sad is that? Well, I think it is sad. But anyhow, so here it is, now the 22nd of July, and he is going to be back tomorrow or the day after, so I haven't seen him, or actually verbally talked to him for about 2 weeks. But he will be back soon!!! And the Elizabeth rejoices!! Yay!!!! (If you can't tell, I've kindda missed having him around. Norman is alright without him here, but not nearly as fun, and unfortunately, Florida wasn't really fun at all, but I think it would have been better with him there. Anyhow, so that's enough from me, I figure I ought to finish Harry Potter before game night tomorrow, so I'm gonna go work on that.
Later,
Elizabeth

I have a robot army!!!! Muhhahahhahaaaaa!!!!
Okay, so maybe they aren't quite robots yet, but as you can see, we got in our XBC version 2s from Charmed labs recently, and are preparing/currently upload(ing) the firmware on to each and everyone one of them, before we upload and run the test program, also on every one of them. On each shelf, there are half a dozen XBCs. As you can see, in the bottom right of the picture, this requires quite a bit of charging, and power. There are 6 power stips there, each with 3 of their power adapters on them. So, the visions hold true, I am creating an army of robots, and if that holds true, so will the fact that Richard will have a gay boy flute player, who isn't really gay, just really fruity. (Richard, I would suggest you lean him towards peaches, or strawberries, everyone likes those.) Another important thing to note about this photo, is that it was taken in our conference room... we have taken over our conference room, so we can charge XBCs enough to download the firmware onto them. Matthew had his laptop there today to use for the downloading, and I will have mine there tomorrow. (I finally downloaded IC onto it... that may prove useful.) For all of you non-technical people out there who have no clue what I'm talking about, the XBC is a combination of three things: a Gameboy Advanced, a Xport board (the one that acts as the cartridge that you put into the GBA), and the XBC board (this board is plugged into the xport board, and is where you plug all the sensors, the camera, and motors into). It's a really nifty device. I'm happy to annouce that the XBC version 2 is alot better than the XBC version one; it has a better battery enclosure, one that you can actually connect legos to, it has a better battery, it has a much better power adapter & power system altogether, you can actually run it while charging it now.
Thus far, I have avoided the XBC altogether, beyond the testing and rebuilding/building/fixing of it that we have done in the lab. I have not written any code for it at all, I have not even worked on any of the code. I feel inspired by the funness that is this better board to now attempt to play with it some. I know that I can't break it because, well, because I have fixed almost all of them that have come back broken. Short of scratching up the actual board, or breaking it over my knee, there really isn't anything that can go wrong with it that I can't fix anymore. (We've had to fix so many of these, that we got to the point where we could direct people how to fix it themselves over the phone, and know exactly what was wrong with it.) But anyhow, so I'm sure that this is boring most of you to tears, but just wait until tomorrow, when I post some of my calculus notes on here.
It really is a fun course, but not because of what we are being taught, simply because of who I am taking with. (Oh, and I got an 85% on that last test I took the Monday before I had to leave!!!! I'm amazed, I would have guessed about a 72% on that one. But this means that I only need a 74% with the bonus points I already have to make an A in the class!!!! Yay!!! No more calculus!!!! Woot!)
Anyhow, so I'm gonna get back to reading Harry Potter, which, I'm quite sad to say, I haven't gotten very far into yet, and let you all get back to doing something more fun.
Catch you later, Have a good day,
Elizabeth

this last week...
first off, I'm sorry that I didn't get around to posting a blog yesterday. You must understand though, when you're too tired to read Harry Potter, you should be asleep. As a result of my post-ponement of posting earlier, I'll have you all know, that I am currently not reading Harry Potter, just so that i can post this for you.
(In other words, you'd better enjoy it.)
The basics of the trip... it was generally good, a few incidents with highschoolers hazing middle schoolers, and theft and stuff like that, all of which were easily, and quickly solved. I hope none of you were expecting me to bring you anything, because I did not see anything asside from the college, and the airport, food, and the bed. I was hoping to make it over to the college bookstore, but alas, did not have a chance to. Anyhow, so there are no goodies from Florida, I'm sorry. (I didn't even see the beach.)
I did meet a couple of really cool guys while I was there though, Ed and John. They're twins about our age. They represented the University of Maryland in the beyond botball portion of the week. They're both pretty technical, and very nice. Anyhow, so they very successfully lead their UMD straigt into the loser's bracket, and out of the tournament, but they did score points for DOL (Andy, Patrick, and Matt's team). Either way, they had a really nifty robot; it used mouse traps to launch empty pop cans half way across the playing field. Nifty awesome. I have a picture of the other robot, which is in this.
Anyhow, so Ed is the one with the blonde hair (left), and John (right) has the darker hair. Next year, they will be competeing on different teams (or so I am told), and the tournament will be held here in Norman. The general point of this being that if you live in or near Norman, I will probably be hitting you up to help lower the costs for these two and their team members (should they have any) come tournament time. But they are both really really really nice, and fun, and face it, you'd love to have them around for a week next summer. ** Special note, Martin took these photos, so I'm sorry, but I not expecting him to do so, unfortunately, they're alot better for this purpose than any of the awards photos turned out.
All said and done, although it was not at all relaxing, or even really a vacation, it was alright, and I believe I can say that I had a good amount of fun, at least, considerably more than I was expecting to have, knowing that I was going with a bunch of people who have kids my age.
Anyhow, so now, it is time to sleep,
goodnight, sweet dreams, take care, sleep well,
Elzabeth

James Mclurkin
Alrighty, so tonight, after dinner, we had our first guest speaker, James Mclurkin. He has these little robots he builds with his team. Either way, he's freakin' awesome. James brought with him some of his little swarmbots, which you see in the back ground here. He's a pretty cool guy, really eneregtic, and fun. He just graduated from MIT, and now works for iRobot. (the company, not the movie) You may have heard of iRobot from their very useful bots including roomba, and pacbot. James, however, is working on these wonderful little robots called swarmbots. They are really cool, and quite nifty. They do all sorts of fun things, and what not, but they make noise (sing) and even light up, follow the leader, disperse, come together, and orbit. But they look nifty when they are like live and what not. Anyhow though, so I'm very tired, and I think I've given you plenty to chew on here. So I hope you all enjoy this, and I wish to make it known that his webpage is not really finished, and he said that he would add video of the swarmbots in action before too long. So, you might want to check back there sooner or later.
Anyway, I have to sleep now, so goodnight, sleep well, sweet dreams, take care, and yeah, just be happy. Later, MEO
PS - tomorrow (friday) is the seeding for regular botball, and all of beyond botball. 1:30 - 5:00, they will have a live webcast going to show the entire seeding rounds here. I'm sorry, but they aren't showing the beyond botball on there at all. They will also show the regular botball double elimination rounds on Sunday, from 1:30-5. So, I would suggest that you also check that one out. It should be pretty cool. Later, Elizabeth. bye

the situation as it is currently
From earlier today >>>>
/*The situation as it stands currently, at 9:13 in the AM; I’m in the Houston International airport. Let’s see… what is there to mention? Oh yes, my flight doesn’t start boarding until 9:50, and I am bored. I read some more of Hitchhiker’s guide to the galaxy on the last flight. Whoo! I can read!!! That in itself is exciting. Uhmm… there is wireless here, but they’re charging $10 for 24 hours, and there is no way I’m going to use 24 hours of wireless in this airport, even on the way back. I don’t think I even come back through this airport on the way back. I don’t remember though, I’ll look it up later. I’m sure that Rodney would be able to figure out how to get into it anyhow for free, but I don’t really feel like stealing internet right now, or like using my brain at all. Besides, I was told that we have wireless access at the homestead, and at the convention center, so most likely, that is where this will be posted from. So far into the trip: I love flying. I really really love flying. It is soooo much fun. I love taking off, not so much landing, but not because I’m scared something will go wrong, but because of the ear popping on the way down. (for some reason, it seems to be worse on the way down.) I got to see the sun rise this morning in
Ooooo! All call for
From now: >>
Well, keeping with typical Florida, it has been raining, on and off, and hot, and sticky, and just really gross. I hate humidity. My hair has pretty much doubled in size, not cool. Not cool at all. Anyhow, so we pretty much know our way around our little corner of Jacksonville now. It has been all sorts of funness, and turn arounds, and what not, but we have two of the three people that we are supposed to get checked in to the dorms tonight checked in. The last person we're supposed t0 go pick up at the airport at 10 something. I'm really kindda bored. We've been doing alot of running around, and not really accomplished anything, but we now know where everything on campus is, and how to get to campus, and where the food around us is. We've found 2 Quizno's, 3 Starbucks, a handfull of assorted grocery stores, a few different chinese restraunts, a McDonalds, a Burger King, and everything else we can possible ever need, including the printers, the sign makers, and a Krystal's, which we ate at for lunch, has free wi-fi, and seems to be an imitation of White Castle, with the tiny burgers and all.
We are free and clear of all of the storms here. If we do catch one, it will be when we're supposed to be flying out.
Our room is really nice, we have two rooms to make up our suite. One with a kitchen area, and bar, and sitting area w/tv, and fold out couch, and bathroom; the other with the two beds, and tv, and bathroom & desk. We have a pretty sweet deal going for us here. We've got our fridge stocked with juice, and cokes, and our wireless access which is better than dandy. We have our own separate bathrooms (how sweet is that?). It's about the same cost as the dorms, and is only 5 minutes away.
I'm here!!

Era 3: A new home
Later, and happy new era,
Elizabeth
Today was good, & I have the greatest boyfriend.
Nifty funness: They [work] gave me money to spend when I need to buy anything in Florida - food, drinks, anything like that, just not like personal spending. It is freakin' awesome! I didn't even know they would do that. It makes me happy. :) They actually trust me. Well, I knew that some of them did, but now I know that they all trust me. It's really like a business trip. It's gonna be fun. If nothing else, it looks good on the resume.
Not so nifty or funness: I got all not feeling well this afternoon, not good. I had to leave work an hour early. Well, a little over an hour early. I kept trying to wait it out, and it just didn't work, so whatever. I came home, took a bath, and went to sleep. I like sleep.
On the rebound: I woke up around 5:10 ish or so in the evening. so, I slept for like two hours or something like that. But either way, I then proceeded to getting the CDs, and gas and stuff, and got my parents to buy dinner. That's a plus. then, we fed the animals at the duck pond, and got another duck to jump, and even Richard got Earl to jump. Earl is cool, he rocks. Uhm... yeah, then we went and saw a dollar movie: A lot like Love. It was really good. I enjoyed it alot. It was funny, and cute, and had <3 <3 Ashton Kutcher <3 <3 in it. Negligible in the long run, since I went with Richard, but it was an awesome movie. Oh yeah, somewhere in all of that, we went to Petsmart, and got rabbit food, and litter for while I'm gone. I'm trying out this new 'fresh scent' litter that they have, since I'm gonna be gone for like a week. It is stinking up my whole room. I think I almost prefer the rabbit smell. But whatever. My head is killing me, so I'm gonna call this a post.
Later, have a good evening/day/morning,
Elizabeth.
Friday, July 08, 2005
I finished the fileboxes, and everything else that needed to be done for our Nationals. Everything is boxed up, and ready to be shipped. Whoo! Work was long, but uneventful, almost monotonous. But I'm kindda looking forward to going to Florida. I will have a couple of half days off here and there, nothing much, but enough to have a bit of fun. I'll be mostly on my own. I get meals with the other staff, and I'm gonna stay with the other staff members, and I have to work the conference. But asside from that, I'll be on my own if I want to have fun for a half day or two. Also, I'm the only one really working the conference who is under like 30. It will be kindda boring.
Oh well. the major plus: it is being held on the campus of Florida University, Jacksonville, so I will have wireless the whole time, and our 'homestead' will have wireless the whole time. That will be good. I will be able to keep in some sort of contact with everyone here. Still doesn't fix the fact that I'll be all Richardless for extended periods of time, but cest la vie.
I think that just about covers everything for today, tomorrow is pay day. CD splurge day!!! Buy rabbit food and stuff day, get tag renewed day, possibly fix hair day, etc. General get ready for trip day. Whoo. i have to work shortly though, so I'm gonna get some sleep.
Goodnight, sleep well, sweet dreams, take care, goodnight.

It is sleep time, so I'm going to try to make this quick
Richard's shorts are frontin'
The turtle is eating the sheit!
Craig Ferguson is appauled by Regis's impression of his accent.
Oh yeah, and my tag expired in June.
Okay, I think that's all for today, if you want to know more of what I learned, you can check out Rodney's blog, it is quite facinating.
A quick look into the future:
Tuesday, at the butt crack of dawn, I leave for Florida, I won't be back until like 4 in the afternoon on the following Monday. Whoo! My first 'business' trip. I know that probably doesn't mean a whole lot, but I'm kindda hoping to get to go to Hawaii with them one of these years, because that would be incredibly awesome. It's incredibly awesome that I'm going this time actually. I mean, they're paying for my food, and my hotel room, and the rental car (since I'm not yet old enough to rent one) is my boss, and it's gonna be fun, I hope. But either way, it's an experience, that will look good later on in life. Plus, I'm hoping to do a good enough job at it, that they 'need' me to go to others in the future. What can I say? I love airplanes, and I love to travel. The one big down side to this all, is that I'm going to miss out on all the fun that you guys are having around here for a week, including Tuesday lunchday, and as I understand it, I'm gonna miss Richard, Alex and Sheena for a grand total of two weeks, since they are to be leaving just before I am arriving. It is sad, I know. I'm gonna be all like boyfriendless for two weeks. But he will be having fun, and that's definately a good thing. I will hopefully be having fun while I'm not working, also a good thing, and definately be sleeping more, a wonderful thing as well. In the end, I don't know if this is gonna be as fun as I hope it will be, since I'm the only one under 30ish who will be there working, and not on a team, but it will definately be an experience, and it will be not OK. And I'm gonna miss Richard, but don't tell him that.
Anyhow, it is time for me to sleep, gotta be at work bright and early at 9 am tomorrow morning. Goodnight, sleep well, sweet dreams, take care. Bye, MEO
PS. I'm sorry it was so long, it was alot longer than I intended it to be.

Marvin the Duck
Marvin the Duck... what to say? we met him only briefly, and decided to name him Marvin, or at least, I decided to name him Marvin. So, it's hot out, we decide to go for a swim, so we're swimming around, for a good 40 minutes or so, and in flies this little brown duck. He's not fat, but he's full grown. We look at it, it looks at us, as if to say, "Duck off, and get out of my swimming area." It starts quacking at us, "quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, quack, QUACK, QUACK, QUACK, QUACK, QUACK!" What an incessant little bugger. So anyhow, we get out, to try to coerce it into getting into the pool, since that's what we assumed it wants anyhow. He just continues to look at the pool and quack. We slowly make our way around him, behind him, towards him. He freaks out, and up and flies away. Poor duck. To Marvin, whereever he should be, come back, and you can swim in the pool.

Anyhow, so I'm going to sleep. Goodnight everyone, Liz

crazy with pics & nothing.
Alrighty, I don't really know what to talk about, so I'm gonna talk about beemers for a bit, and why I like them so. From there, who knows, sometimes it is best just to get the fingers to get warmed up, and find something better to write about. Anyhow though, so Beemers... moving *Swoon,* they are so beautiful. Check it out, how can you not love the beemer? I mean, come on, they are like gorgeous. Come on, you can't say that that isn't a thing of beauty. I mean, sure, it's not a boy, it's not something like a flower or anything, but it is pure, man made beauty. How much closter can you come to beauty when you're after something that is man made? Midnight blue, 325i BMW. This one in the picture is actually a bit on the new side. I don't like the head lights on it as much as they older ones, like the 2001 BMW. These are more squinty and cat-eye like. But whatever.
Okay, this isn't working i'm gonna go.
Later, ~Liz
Tuesday, June 28, 2005
Later,
Wow, and wow!
on a completely different note though, Rodney's most recent blog post is awesome. It is just beautiful. I think that it is very very pretty. I totally dig it. He also mentions a site to go to if you're a poor college student who can't afford furniture. You should definately check it out if you haven't yet. I hope to eventually more more towards the pictures and stuff, but this is not quite the time to do that just yet for me, especially since my mom has run off with my camera again.
Also, tomorrow, I'm told, Richard is getting a hair cut. Scuba diving is looks good on him. I warn you all, tomorrow, you will experience a sexier, hotter, more devilishy stunning, handsome Richard. Now, keep in mind that I've kindda made plans to keep him for a bit longer, so unfortunately for you all, I will not play fair in any sort of fight over him that might occur. And yes, I already know about his three hot rich lovers who are gonna buy him a beemer. What can I say? He got the idea from me, and if I can have hot rich lovers, I figure he should be able to too. But anyhow, so I'm tired, and need to sleep so that I wake up tomorrow morning... tuesday lunch day at like 11:30 how crazy is that? I say very. But then, I'm tired, so goodnight.
Later,
Elizabeth.

good songs.
I'll be sitting when the evening comes
Watching the ships roll in
And I watch 'em roll away again
{Refrain}
Sitting on the dock of the bay
Watching the tide roll away
I'm just sitting on the dock of the bay
Wasting time
I left my home in Georgia
Headed for the 'Frisco bay
'Cause I had nothin to live for
And look like nothing's gonna come my way
So I'm just...
{Refrain}
Look like nothing's gonna change
Everything still remains the same
I can't do what ten people tell me to do
So I guess I'll remain the same
Sittin here resting my bones
And this loneliness won't leave me alone
It's two thousand miles I roamed
Just to make this dock my home
Now, I'm just...
Actually, I'm just sitting in the guys apartment, kindda half being bored, while they play Halo, but whatever. Okay, now we're watchin' a piratey lookin' episode of The Venture Brothers. Ohhhp, back to the shooting. Okay, yeah... game night was fun. It was great seeing everyone again. DH came appropriately dressed, wearing a shirt that said, "I'm knot blonde, I'm really knot." We played a bit of taboo. Oh yeah, way to go team Liz! We kicked the Braum's butt. There really is something to be said about playing on the same team as your boyfriend, and using inside jokes and conversations for anything you couldn't get otherwise.
I'm also downloading lots of music that I've been wanting for a while, (yes, it is perfectly legal) and so that should be entertaining. It is taking way too long for my tastes though, but cest la vie. Anyhow, so this is getting kindda boring, and not holding my attention well, so I think that it is time for so yahoo gaming. Later, Elizabeth.

A quick bit then sleep.
My point in this was to mention that we went to the duck pond, and played capture the flag, and it was fun. Poor Richard took a bit of a spill, which is never a good thing, but then we went swimming, and cooled everyone down a bit. That was also good. Good evening it was.
Florida is all over the place, I have no clue what I'm doing, whether I'm going or not, and if so, how I am going, but my mom offered to pay for a plane ticket for me to get there, so that sounds like a blast, I might take her up on it. The only problem being that I would be going alone, like all alone, not meeting up with people until that evening, or whenever I get in, and get over to the university, but I think it might be good for me anyhow. I'd get to be all like pushy and assertive. (whoo.... 8-| ) so, who really knows?
In other news, I had a test today in calc. I think I kicked it's ass. It's great fun. It took an hour and a half, and I redid like every question three+ times. I suppose I am kindda jumping the gun on this, assumption, but I do feel like I did well on it. Anyhow though, so it is now time for sleep, and I'm beginning to get alittle tired, so goodnight to everyone, sleep well, sweet dreams, take care, ~Liz

Einstein Rocks my world
"It takes both sunshine and rain to make a rainbow."
"Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something, wearing stripes with plaid comes easy!" - Einstien
"A man who has never gone to school may steal from a freight car; but if he has a university education, he may steal the whole railroad."
-Theodore Roosevelt
"You've got to be careful if you don't know where you're going, because you might not get there" -Yogi Berra
"The secret of success is to do common things uncommonly well." -John D. Rockefeller
Imagination is more important than knowledge...
Albert Einstein
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
Albert Einstein
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.
Albert Einstein
The ideals which have lighted my way, and time after time have given me new courage to face life cheerfully, have been Kindness, Beauty, and Truth. The trite subjects of human efforts, possessions, outward success, luxury have always seemed to me contemptible.
Albert Einstein
The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.
Albert Einstein
The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is at all comprehensible.
Albert Einstein
The secret to creativity is knowing how to hide your sources.
Albert Einstein
We should take care not to make the intellect our god; it has, of course, powerful muscles, but no personality.
Albert Einstein
Science without religion is lame, religion without science is blind.
Albert Einstein, "Science, Philosophy and Religion: a Symposium", 1941
A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes.
Mark Twain
Always acknowledge a fault. This will throw those in authority off their guard and give you an opportunity to commit more.
Mark Twain
Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest.
Mark Twain
An Englishman is a person who does things because they have been done before. An American is a person who does things because they haven't been done before.
Mark Twain
Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.
Mark Twain
I personally really like the ones from Einstein, but they are all useful in some fashion or another; if for nothing else, then as a cute saw. Later, ~Liz~
